Talent Management Systems - the rise of "Best of Breed" OR "Polygamy is back in Fashion"
Since the early 1990's in the US and mid 90's in Europe, ERP solutions have dominated. Theirs was an enormously popular value proposition that fuelled massive growth in providers such as SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle and many others. Huge marketing budgets also contributed to driving the growth phenomenon.
Looking back over the past decade, it seems evident that the silver bullet of ERP has been shown not to travel as accurately, as far or as fast as most would have liked. Most ERP solutions are massively complex resulting in any changes or client customisations leading to huge frustration and cost.
